Collider provides a first look at Becky Lynch in new Star Trek: Starfleet Academy

Collider has provided a first look at WWE’s Becky Lynch in the new Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, which premieres January 15, 2026, exclusively on Paramount+. Lynch plays a Starfleet officer in the upcoming spin-off series.

Marisa Williams of Collider wrote, that Lynch “is in Operations Gold as part of the bridge crew, sporting a bob with blue streaks in her hair, and nothing right away indicates she’s anything other than human.”

When speaking on her experience filming the series, Lynch said this was one of the most “amazing sets” she’s ever been on. Lynch added that growing up in Ireland, Star Trek was one of the two shows that was on the TV.

“I grew up when Star Trek was one of the two shows that was on TV in Ireland, on whatever four channels we had, so it was always on in the background. I can’t say that I sat down and watched, but I did love the movies. And Colm Meaney. We all love Colm Meaney, any time he was on, you sit down and watch that.”

Collider also notes the new series also stars Holly Hunter as Captain Ake, along with some familiar face, which includes Sylvia Tilly (Mary Wiseman), Jett Reno (Tig Notaro), Charles Vance (Oded Fehr), and the Emergency Medical Holograph, the Doctor, played by Robert Picardo.

When commenting on and promoting her role in the series, Lynch told Collider that she is not one of WWE’s biggest stars, but that she is the biggest.

Lynch lost the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship to Maxxine Durpi back on the November 17 episode of Raw, after AJ Lee caused a distraction near ringside. Lynch is part of the Women’s WarGames Match that will take place this Saturday as part of the Survivor Series PLE held at Petco Park in San Diego, California. She joins Asuka, Kairi Sane, Nia Jax, and Lash Legend, as they will go against the team of  AJ Lee, Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, and IYO SKY.
