In an interview with TMZ Sports, CJ Perry addressed speculation that she was retired from professional wrestling.
Explaining the rumor stemmed from comments made on Sonya Deville’s podcast, Perry stated:
I think when I said I was retired I was being very sarcastic. I would love to wrestle again, but I do believe that my money pocket and what I add the most value to wrestling companies is talking and promoting their talent. At the end of the day, we’re in the business of promotion.
As her husband returned to WWE in April 2025, Perry was announced as having signed a Legends contract with the contract.
Her last match competing as Lana took place on the May 31, 2021 episode of WWE Raw, teaming with Naomi to face Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose.
When asked if she missed performing, Perry responded:
Are you kidding me? I miss it so much. I feel like a drug addict a little bit. It’s like that’s the high. There’s no high and no adrenaline rush like that in the world.
Following her WWE release in November 2021, Perry briefly appeared alongside her husband in AEW as part of a storyline with Andrade in late 2023.
