Booker T spoke about the recent comments Bret Hart said about Bill Goldberg and other wrestlers during an interview published on YouTube by The Johnny Pro Show
“Bret Hart has been all over the place lately. And I really don’t even know what it is. I like Bret Hart. Bret Hart has done so much for this business and now at this stage of the game seems like I don’t know. It’s like everything’s nuclear. Everything’s just like burn, let everything burn. And I just say, why?”
Booker T also spoke on Hart’s issues he has with Goldberg’s stiff kick to Hart’s head during their match at Starrcade 1999 which was the catalyst to Hart having to eventually retire from in-ring competition.
“I know Bret Hart had his issues with Goldberg and those issues are deep-rooted for what happened inside the ring. But one thing I must say, stuff that happens in the ring, it happens. I don’t think none of us go out in the middle of the ring and try to hurt somebody on purpose or anything like that...Some of this stuff you just can’t walk back,” Booker T warned. “You’re going to see, we got to see each other at some point in time. And to not be able to relive some of the greatest moments in the history of this business, because of bitterness… It’s got to be a lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, dark day at the end of this ride. And I just say, I just think Bret Hart’s a much, much better person than the person that we’ve been seeing as of late. I know he is”.
Booker T also spoke on when he wrestled Goldberg and new he was ‘green.’
“I wrestled Goldberg. I was always aware of what good happened working with Goldberg, just because I knew the guy was green, I knew he wasn’t the most experienced professional wrestler in the world, so I was always thinking about protecting myself when I was in there with Goldberg. And that’s just the truth. But I think it was smart at the same time”.
Hart also called out Sheamus, who is currently out with a shoulder injury, saying that The Celtic Warrior can’t throw a punch.
“Whenever I see him, I’m like why don’t you take ten minutes and go down and have someone teach you how to throw a punch instead of throwing that embarrassment of a punch?” Hart went on to add that says Sheamus opens his hand at the last second, then slaps his opponent, and then closes his hand again while pulling back.
During a virtual signing this past Summer, Hart said that Booker’s axe kick was dangerous.
