During the media call for ROH Final Battle, Tony Khan was asked about the status of Zayda Steel following an appearance earlier this week.
On whether the former WWE ID prospect was signed, the AEW President simply said to “stay tuned,” noting that Steel taking on Leila Grey makes for “an interesting match.”
On a special edition of ROH airing 12/2 on YouTube, Steel appeared backstage to challenge the SkyFlight member to a match.
The speculation surrounding Steel’s status comes after she announced she was departing the WWE ID program in October.
She has worked in a number of independent promotions in the United States since 2022, as well as appearing at the Marigold promotion in Japan.
ROH Final Battle takes place Friday, December 5 from the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio as part of the city’s annual GalaxyCon festivities.
