According to a report from POST Wrestling, a Connecticut judge this past Monday ordered Dr. Carlon Colker of Peak Wellness to provide payment records to former WWE employee Janel Grant that show how Vince McMahon paid for her medical treatment.
The ruling came down from Judge David Bothwell. Over a year ago, Grant filed a pre-action suit, seeking evidence to investigate the possibility of bringing a separate lawsuit against Colker and his Connecticut clinic.
Grant states that McMahon directed her to go to Colker’s clinic for treatment, where she also alleges she was given supplements and infusions containing a substance that she says was was not disclosed to her. Colker denies Grant claims and filed a defamation lawsuit against one of Grant’s attorneys, Ann Callis as a result.
POST Wrestling further notes that while medical records have been turned over, disputes remain about billing or payment records, which are marked “paid” but do not provide who actually made those payments.
Colker’s attorney, Frank Silvestri, told the court that Grant’s treatments had been paid by McMahon with his credit card which was on file with the clinic, as McMahon was also a patient there. It was also said the judge pressed Silvestri on why no records showing the payment made by McMahon were not given to Grant.
Colker’s legal counsel then brought up their concern over Grant’s document requests pertaining to claims regarding trips to Tijuana, Mexico, wanting to protect McMahon’s medical information.
POST Wrestling concluded by noting the deadline to produce the documents is expected to fall within 35 days of the order being entered.
