As WrestleMania season gets firmly underway, Fightful Select has reported that significant shifts in WWE creative have impacted a number of plans previously in the works for the company.
One source noted there were talks throughout WWE’s recent tour of Europe for the former Intercontinental Champion, with a tentative plan for a world championship match ahead of WrestleMania 42.
With the recent pivots in creative, it is unclear if plans surrounding Zayn remain intact even as he heads into a Fatal 4-Way match to determine the No. 1 Contender for the Undisputed WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble, though one source close to the company stated that this was a storyline beat many on the team hoped to reach dating back to his extended program with Karrion Kross throughout 2025.
