WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio posted a picture of himself, Penta and Dragon Lee all unmasked on a plane to Saudi Arabia. This Friday’s SmackDown and Saturday’s Royal Rumble will both emanate from the country.
We reported on late Monday night, Mysterio injured his shoulder during his match against Austin Theory. Mysterio finished the match, but was not part of the post-match beatdown that Dragon Lee and Petna took from The Vision. Mysterio laid on the apron favoring his shoulder as WWE medical staff tended to him and the referee eventully holding up the ‘X’ sign.
Mysterio, Lee, and Penta have all declared themselves as participants for the Men’s Royal Rumble. However, at the time of this writing, it is not known if Mysterio will be medically cleared to compete in the match.
The 51-year old Mysterio was out of action for seven months last year after he torn his groin before WrestleMania. He returned to the ring this past November.
