AJ Styles files for trademarks ahead of the WWE Royal Rumble

Ahead of his match against Gunther at Saturday’s WWE Royal Rumble, putting his career on the line, AJ Styles has made trademark filings with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

On Thursday, January 28, Styles filed to trademark the term “The Phenomenal AJ Styles” and the “P1” logo.

The 48-year-old Styles said last year during the Crown Jewel kick-off show that 2026 would be the year he retires. It was previously reported that his WWE contract expires in February next month.

After news of the trademark filings hit social media, there has been extensive speculation on platforms such as Facebook and X that Styles will be AEW-bound when his WWE contract expires.
