Report with further details on Ava’s decision to leave WWE

During the recent Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez discussed additional details on Ava’s decision not to sign a new deal with WWE.

The NXT on-screen General Manager revealed this past Thursday, that the Tuesday episode was her last and that she chose not to re-sign with WWE.

Meltzer said he talked to and heard from several people Ava just didn’t want to do the General Manager role any longer.

“I’ve talked to and heard from several people and the general thing was is just she didn’t want to do it anymore. There was no compelling reason.”

Meltzer also went on to say that it is unclear if Ava’s decision to leave had to do with her real-life partner Tatyanna Dumas recently being cut by WWE.

“One person had contacted me and mentioned Tatyanna Dumas, who is her girlfriend, was cut, which we didn’t hear just a couple of weeks ago. They weren’t quite saying that’s why she quit but it was something that people put one and one together that maybe that had something to do with it, maybe it didn’t, I don’t know.”

On this past Tuesday’s NXT, there was no mention of her possibly exiting WWE soon or any angle of her being written out of storylines. Over the past several weeks Ava has been part of a program Tony D’Angelo.

Ava (real name Simone Johnson), is the daughter of Dwayne Johnson.

She first began the role on NXT television back in January 2024. She initially signed a developmental deal with WWE back in February 2020.
