According to a recent report from Awful Announcing, a rep confirmed to the publication that Comcast customers who have ESPN as part of their television subscription package will gain access to ESPN Unlimited “in the coming weeks.” Comcast customers will then have access to WWE’s premium live events, instead of having to fork over $30 a month or $299 per year or pay for a VPN to access the international version of Netflix in order to watch events such as WrestleMania.
It was also stated the reason for the delay between Comcast and ESPN was due to technical issues that were inherent to authenticating tens of millions of new users onto the platform. A source familiar with the ongoing effort told Awful Announcing that the work on ESPN’s end is ready and the network is now waiting on Comcast to complete their end of the process.
At the time of Awful Announcing’s report, it was further noted that the process has been completed for YouTube TV subscribers. However, the timeline of when the Google owned streaming service will the process done on their end was said be unknown.
