Ahead of his AEW National Championship defense on Dynamite, Ricochet responded to fans online looking back on his run in WWE.
Responding to a comment citing ‘no gratefulness’ toward WWE, Ricochet said:
They took my love of pro wrestling away. I’ll never forget how I felt walking into work every week. And that platform was only to make other look good at my expense. And I told them, I’d rather quit and go back to the indies and make whatever I’d make there than to come back next week.
The former Intercontinental Champion added that he was made champion after that, and not granted his release from the company.
Ricochet departed WWE after his contract expired in the summer of 2024, debuting in AEW as part of the Casino Gauntlet match at All In that August.
