Speaking with Compas On The Beat Thursday during the Super Bowl Radio Row AEW head Tony Khan announced a new partnership between AEW and the NFL.
The two sides will be releasing lucha libre masks themed for all 32 NFL teams. Khan also said the masks will feature the AEW and NFL logos, in addition to branding for the specific teams. Khan went on to say this new partnership is a dream come true and that it has been something he’s been working on for a while to make a reality.
You will have to wait until Thursday, April 23 which is the start of the NFL draft, to purchase masks, as that is when they will be at ShopAEW.com.
“It’s really exciting to be able to talk about a partnership that I’ve always dreamed of. I’ve always wanted the NFL and AEW to work together. This is a Jacksonville Jaguars lucha libre mask. But I’m so excited about it because they will be putting this up and these will be available for all 32 NFL teams. So starting the first night of the NFL Draft, Thursday, April 23, we will have these masks available on ShopAEW.com for all 32 NFL teams. Now, finally, I’ve always wanted this. It’s a dream I’ve been working on for years, a partnership between the NFL and AEW. So whoever your NFL team is, whatever football team you’re a fan of, you’ll be able to get an All Elite Wrestling NFL mask for your team.”
In addition to AEW, Khan is also the Jacksonville Jaguars Chief Football Strategy Officer. His father, Shahid Khan has owned the team since 2011. The Khan family also owns the London, England based Premier League team Fulham FC, which Tony helps run as well.
