WCW Nitro kicks off with the legendary Nitro video.

We cut to the announce team talk about tonight’s show.

WCW World Heavyweight Champion Randy Savage with Miss Elizabeth and Woman vs. Chris Benoit

The bell rings and we are under way. Savage has tape all around his left arm. Benoit with right hands and he throws Savage to the outside of the ring. He slams Savage face first into the barricade and back into the ring. Benoit with chops to the chest in the turnbuckle. He slams Savage down onto the mat. Benoit with a snap mare take down followed by a chin lock. Savage gets to his feet but Benoit with a snap suplex. Benoit climbs the top rope and he lands the diving headbutt. Benoit with a back suplex. He throws Savage to the ropes and Benoit with an elbow to the face. Benoit with a back breaker. Savage down in the corner and he throws Benoit to the outside of the ring. Savage to the outside and he grabs Benoit but Benoit slams Savage arm first into the ring post. Both men back in the ring and Savage with a running clothesline. Woman gets on the ring apron and that distracts the referee. Savage to the ropes and Benoit throws him over the top rope and down to the outside. Benoit goes for a suicide dive but Savage moves out of the way and Benoit hits the barricade. Savage throws him back into the ring. Savage climbs the top rope and he lands the elbow drop. Out comes Ric Flair to the ring and he hides behind WMiss Elizabeth. Savage to the outside and Woman begins chocking Savage from behind. Flair with kicks onto Savage as the referee calls for the bell.

Winner: By disqualification, Randy Savage

Out comes Arn Anderson and they start double teaming Savage. Out comes Hulk Hogan with a steel chair and he hits Arn with the chair. Flair leaves the ring as he, Arn and Woman leave together.

Gene Okerlund comes down to the ring. Hogan tells him that they have to put a stop to Ric Flair. he can see what it is in front of him. In comes Ric Flair from behind and he hits Hogan with a right hand. Flair with right hands but Hogan grabs Flair. In comes The Giant with a steel chair and he hits Hogan with i t from behind. In comes Savage who grabs the chair from The Giant and The Giant leaves the ring.

Roy’s thoughts: Not a bad match to start the show. I know Savage was Champion here but it felt like every match he went into, he was the underdog, even in this one. He kept needing Hogan to someone save him but it continues the story of Savage and Hogan.

-Commercial Break-

Flyin’ Brian and Arn Anderson vs. Kevin Sullivan and Hugh Morris

The bell rings and we are under way. Pillman and Morris start the match. Pillman with chops to the chest but Morris laughs. Pillman with a rake to the eyes. Pillman to the ropes but Morris gorilla presses him. In comes Arn but Morris with a gorilla press. Pillman gets back in the ring and Sullivan is tagged in. Sullivan with right hands. He throws Pillman to the ropes and Sullivan with a right hand. Arn is tagged in and Morris is tagged in. Morris with a head lock but Arn throws him to the ropes. Pillman kicks Morris from behind. Morris picks Pillman up but Arn with a right hand. Arn throws Morris to the ropes and Arn with a spine buster. Arn with kicks and Pillman is tagged in. Pillman with right hands. Arn is tagged back in and Arn with right hands. Arn with a snap mare take down followed by a face lock. Pillman is tagged in and he lands a chop to the leg. Arn is tagged back in and they double team Morris. They throw Morris to the outside of the ring. Arn distracts the referee and Pillman throws Morris into the barricade. Morris gets back in the ring and Arn with a snap mare followed by a knee to the face. Pillman is tagged in Morris with a right hand and Sullivan is tagged in. Both men with right hands and Sullivan places Pillman in a tree of woe. Sullivan with a running knee. Pillman gets back up but Sullivan with right hands and he bites Pillman. Arn breaks it up. Arn throws Sullivan to the outside of the ring. Morris gets in the ring and Pillman throws him to the outside. Arn and Sullivan begin to fight to the back. Arn goes for a piledriver but we see someone hit Arn with a broom from behind. At ring side, Morris slams Pillman on the outside. Morris throws Pillman in the ring as the referee calls for the ball.

Winners: No contest

Morris with a moon sault off the top rope. Sullivan begins to hit Pillman with a belt. Out comes Jimmy Hart and he gets in the ring. Arn comes back down to ring side and Pillman leaves to the back.

Roy’s thoughts: I’m a fan of Flyin’ Brian. The loose cannon was really loose. The match wasn’t bad but this was all about what is going to happen with Pillman.

-Commercial Break-

We see Mr. Wonderfull wearing a neck brace and he approaches the announce team. He says the thing about payback is you never know when it will happen.

Ric Flair with Woman vs. Buff Bagwell

The bell rings and we are under way. Flair with chops to the chest. Flair with right hands and kicks in the corner. Bagwell to the ropes but Bagwell with a clothesline. Flair get up and Bagwell clotheslines him to the outside of the ring. Bagwell with a running clothesline. He throws Flair back into the ring. Flair with a kick but Bagwell with a right hand. Bagwell with more right hands. He goes for the cover but Flair kicks out. Flair to his feet and Bagwell with a back body drop. Bagwell with a drop kick. He goes for the cover but Flair kicks out. Bagwell throws Flair to the ropes and he goes for a drop kick but Flair hangs on to the ropes. Flair grabs Bagwell and goes for the Figure Four but Bagwell reverses it into a cover. Flair kicks out. Bagwell to the ropes and Flair hits him over the top rope and to the outside of the ring. Flair throws Bagwell back into the ring. Flair with a knee to the face. He gets Bagwell in the corner and Flair with chops. Bagwell with right hands. Bagwell goes for a splash but Flair with a big boot. Flair goes for the cover but Bagwell kicks out. Flair climbs the top rope but Bagwell with a right hand. Bagwell gorilla presses Flair down onto the mat. Flair gets up and Bagwell with a clothesline. He goes for the cover but Flair kicks out. Bagwell grabs Flair but Flair with a right hand. Flair goes for a suplex but Bagwell lifts Flair up and places him on the top rope. Bagwell with a suplex. He goes for the cover but Flair kicks out. Bagwell with a body slam and Bagwell gets on the ring apron. Bagwell jumps over the top rope and goes for a splash but Flair gets his knees up. Flair gets Bagwell in the Figure Four Leg Lock and Bagwell taps out.

Winner: Ric Flair

Out comes Randy Savage who runs into the ring but Flair leaves the ring and runs to the back. Savage runs after Flair.

Roy’s thoughts: Nice to see Savage come out and go after Flair. The match was a fun one, Bagwell was good in the ring and Flair is Flair.

Sting and Lex Luger vs. Road Warriors

The bell rings and we are under way. Sting and Animal start the match. Sting with an arm bar but Animal pushes Sting away. Sting gets back up to his feet. Animal lifts Sting up and slams him onto the mat. Animal with a body slam. He goes for the elbow but Sting moves out of the way. Sting with a kick followed by a bull dog. Sting climbs the top rope and he lands a shoulder tackle. Sting goes for the cover but Animal kicks out. Luger is tagged in and as is Hawk. Luger with right hands. He throws Hawk to the ropes and Luger with an elbow. Luger with a pile driver but Hawk gets back up. Warrior with a clothesline. He throws Luger to the ropes and Hawk with a running shoulder tackle. Sting is tagged back in. Hawk with chops to the chest followed by a clothesline. Hawk grabs Sting but Sting throws him into the corner. Sting with the Stinger’s splash. He goes for the Scorpion Death Lock but in comes Animal who breaks it up. Animal is tagged in. Animal with a shoulder tackle. Animal to the ropes but Luger lowers the top rope and Animal falls to the outside f the ring. Luger throws Animal back in the ring. Luger is tagged in and they double team Animal. Luger with kicks. Luger throws Animal to the corner. He goes for a splash but Animal with a boot to the face. Animal with a right hand but Luger with right hands. Luger with a body slam followed by an elbo drop. Luger goes for the cover but Animal kicks out.

-Commercial Break-

Eric Bischoff says the entire arena lost power and we are back. Luger goes for the cover but Animal kicks out. Sting is tagged in and they double team Animal. Sting with a head lock and Luger is tagged in. Luger throws Animal to the ropes and Luger with a body slam. He grabs Animal but Animal with a back followed by a back suplex. He goes for the cover but Sting breaks it up. Hawk gets in the ring and he throws Sting to the outside. Hawk to the outside and he hits Sting with right hands. In the ring, Animal with a body slam. Out comes Jimmy Hart with a piece of metal and he gets on the ring apron but Animal pushes him down. Luger grabs the piece of metal and he hits Animal with it from behind. Luger goes for the cover and gets the in.

Winners: Sting and Lex Luger

Sting does not look happy after the match as he and Luger leave to the back.

Gene Okerlund gets in the ring after the match. Hawk says they are demanding, they want a match with a winners of Sting and Luger against Harlem Heat. Animal tells him that his back wasn’t right but everyone knows no one can beat them fair and square.

We cut to the announce team. Bischoff talks about Super Brawl as Nitro goes off the air.

Roy’s thoughts: The power going out in the arena must have been odd but it came off as a commercial break in the match itself. Two big tag teams and another match where Luger does something a heel would do and Sting doesn’t like it. The show itself was fun and didn’t have a lot of talking.
