CMLL cancels upcoming Guadalajara show amidst ongoing violence

CMLL has announced that the February 24 show at Arena Coliseo in Guadalajara has been canceled, due to ongoing violence in the area following the death of a famous cartel leader.

The government of Mexico carried out a mission to capture Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes (‘El Mencho’), who was injured in the operation and died while in transport to Mexico City for medical attention.

The incident has led to violence, with at least 62 people having been killed in the fallout.

In a statement released by CMLL:

In light of the events of the last few hours in our country, and following the recommendations of the security authorities, we have made the decision to suspend our show on Tuesday, February 24, at the Arena Coliseo in Guadalajara, prioritizing at all times the protection of the best fans in the world.

The decision reflects our commitment to ensuring a safe environment for the audience, the talent, and all personnel involved in the operation of the event.
