Conflicting reports on WWE’s reaction to Ronda Rousey’s AEW debut

There seem to be conflicting reports on WWE’s reaction to Ronda Rousey’s AEW debut at the Revolution pay-per-view last Sunday.

Previously, F4WOnline reported that people within WWE were said to have been shocked to see Rousey debut in AEW. However, a Saturday report from Fightful Select notes that its sources say Rousey received the desired reaction as a heel at her debut. It was added that Rousey was expecting a different reaction.

Fightful’s sources in TKO and WWE claimed to the publication that the expectation is Rousey to “do anything she can to go against WWE, UFC, and TKO at this point.” Furthermore, TKO and WWE do not see her returning to the company in the future.

At the time of Fightful Select’s report, nothing has been heard about follow-up creative plans for Rousey yet. It was also said that Rousey lives in the Los Angeles area, which made for an “easy trip” to the pay-per-view venue.

Rousey is also scheduled for an MMA comeback fight against Gina Carano on May 16, 2026, under Most Valuable Promotions (MVP). The fight will air live on Netflix.
