During a recent interview with Inside the Ropes, AEW’s Julia Hart was asked about on the anti-ICE chants that have taken place during the company’s television shows.
The 24-year old former TBS champion is originally from Bloomington, Minnesota, which was the focus of ICE issues that took place most notably in her home state.
Well yeah, you know Brody did a great job of just wearing a t-shirt that’s all. He donated so much money to the families that needed it and me being from Minnesota where a lot of this stuff was happening kind of hit close to home. Like some of the stuff that was happening was right out of a donut shop that I used to go to while growing up. You know it’s kind of like a weird feeling and all we can do is help anyone in need and donating money and being supportive as a community. But, yeah, I think it’s great what Brody has done.”
Also during the interview, Hart was asked about how people would ask her if she is related to WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart.
“We did used to like joke around and say that just because you know we have the same last name. People would ask me like, ‘Oh are you related to the Hart family?’ When I was a kid I was like ‘Yeah we have the same last name. They’re from Canada and I’m from Minnesota, that’s basically the same thing.’ But no, I’ve met Bret [Hart], He’s a sweetheart, he’s so nice.”
Hart trained at the Academy School of Professional Wrestling in Minneapolis which is run by Ken Anderson and the Nightmare Factory in Atlanta that is ran by current WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes and QT Marshall. Hart made her AEW debut on an episode of Dark against KiLynn King before her Dynamite debut against Britt Baker on the May 5, 2021,
She is also married to AEW/ROH star Lee Johnson who is part of the faction with Jay Lethal and Blake Christian.
Hart and her Triangle of Madness stablemates – AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla and Skye Blue will be in trios action on the April 1 episode of Dynamite, in a match against Mina Shirakawa and the Brawling Birds (Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor). Hart and Blue together are known as the Sisters of Sin.
