Former Women’s Champion now under dual contract with AEW and CMLL

During Friday’s CMLL show at Arena Mexico in Mexico City, it was announced that former AEW World Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa is now under a dual contract with AEW and CMLL.

Rosa recently wrote a column for the website RÉCORD talking about her wrestling future, noting that her commitments with CMLL will continue for the remainder of 2026. She also spoke with The Takedown on SI, in an interview that was published this past Wednesday, stating that her hope was to land a dual AEW/CMLL contract.

“Really you gonna ask me that question? Of course I’m interested in something like that. It’s a big deal, it is such a big deal and it’s such an honor when they recognize you to be somebody to be part of their organization. Absolutely, it would be an honor. That’s like one thing that I always, when I started wrestling, I always wanted to do is wrestle in Arena Mexico, to be part of some of the trainings in Arena Mexico, which I will survive when I do them. I will survive them all. It’s like pushing myself to the limit and it’s like one of those things that I’m really enjoying the process because it’s like pushing yourself in a different way.”

The announcement comes after Fightful Select reported she was expected to sign a dual contract with AEW and CMLL, ahead of a trios match at a CMLL event on April 4.
