During an interview with FOX News, Trevor Lee (former NXT talent Cameron Grimes), revealed he’s signed a contract with MLW.
Lee said praised the production and the product aspect of MLW. He also noted how enthusiastic the fanbase is.
“What really entices me is they have a great production. When you watch the product, the crowds are big and the crowds are loud.”
Grimes also added that at 32-years old he has a lot he can still contribute to pro wrestling and wants to show the fans that he is more than just a comedy act, further noting that he can have main event type matches.
“I want to show that I’m more than a comedy act. I can have these elite tier matches. I want to see how far we can go.”
Lee also emphasized that while MLW is not on the same level as WWE, he does not consider them to be an independent promotion either, specifically noting they have a solid roster.
“MLW isn’t WWE, but they’re not an indie either. They’re right there. So, it’s nice to be able to be at a place that can represent you well, show you well, and also give you a good batch of talent to work with as well with so many different companies that can come through there.”
MLW’s roster includes former WWE talents Matt Riddle, Shotzi Blackheart, Donovan Dijak, Scarlett Bordeaux, Killer Kross (who is the current MLW World Champion), Bishop Dyer (former WWE talent Baron Corbin), who is currently one-half of the MLW World Tag Team Champions) and former TNA talent Austin Aries who currently holds the MLW National Openweight Championship.
Lee, who is a former NXT North American Champion was released from his WWE contract back on April 23, 2024.
