A new report from Luchablog has revealed that La Catalina is set to make a historic move, signing with AAA just hours after her departure from CMLL.
The former CMLL Universal Amazons Champion is notably set to debut for the company on April 11, becoming the first talent to jump from CMLL to AAA following the latter’s acquisition by WWE in 2025.
Of the potential impact of the deal, bringing Catalina closer to the company she competed in from 2019-2021, the report states:
La Catalina is the pick up AAA’s needed since WWE took over. She’s not the biggest possible name to jump, but she’s the one who fills the most obvious need. WWE/TKO believes in having strong marketable women’s stars, the AAA roster they took over did not have many women that fit WWE’s conventional thought process about female stars.
A statement from CMLL notes it was Catalina’s decision not to renew her contract with the promotion, where she worked matches against former AEW champions Toni Storm and Mercedes Moné.
