As first reported by PWInsider, then F4WOnline and Fightful, former WWE Divas Champion and AEW World Women’s Champion Saraya Jade-Bevis, known as Paige during her original run in WWE has signed a new deal with the company and is expected to return during this weekend’s as part of WrestleMania 42.
PWInsider notes that the belief among those they have spoke with, Saraya, as Paige, will be part of Saturday’s WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Fatal Four-Way, substituting for Nikki Bella who has not been cleared to return due to an ankle injury she suffered during the 3/27 episode of SmackDown.
Paige has not wrestled for WWE since suffering a neck injury during a match against Sasha Banks (Mercedes Mone’) at a house show Banksin December 2017 . Paige took a back-of-the-neck kick from Banks she did not anticipate. The kick resulted in Paige losing feeling in her arms and legs in the ring. She was forced to retire from in-ring action in April 2018 and served as the on-screen General Manager of SmackDown.
Her contract with WWE which was through July 2022 was not renewed. She signed a deal with AEW and debuted at the company’s Dynamite Grand Slam event in September of that same year under her real name. She would then make her in-ring debut for AEW in a match against Britt Baker at Full Gear 2022 after being cleared by her medical team and AEW.
Saraya announced back in March 2025, she had left AEW. Her final AEW match with the company took place on the October 8, 2024 episode of Dynamite, in a four-way against Jamie Hayter, Nyla Rose, and Willow Nightingale.
