According to reports from various sources/media outlets, WWE SmackDown on the USA Network and Netflix for international fans will be returning back to a two-hour format.
“Sources indicate that SmackDown will be leaving the three hour format and going back to 2 hours in a few weeks,” according to Bodyslam.net. The report also notes that scaling back to the two-hour format has nothing to do with the 23 releases last Friday, but that this is a USA move and not a move made by WWE, as the network has exclusive rights to programs that will be airing at 10:00 pm ET, which includes the return of the hit show, “Everything on the Menu starring Braun Strowman.”
SmackDown had shifted back to three-hours back on January 3, 2025.
At the time of the report, there is no date on when SmackDown will return back to two-hours, but it is expected to be soon.
SmackDown did unveil new changes to its production and presentation during last Friday’s episode, which was the first episode after WrestleMania 42 that included Fatal Influence from NXT make their main roster debut, along with updates to graphics.
