During an investors call on Wednesday, TKO Chief Financial Officer Mark Shapiro stated that WWE is “firmly moving ahead” with events in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which includes the WWE Night of Champion premium live event scheduled for Saturday, June 27.
Shapiro said addressed the current situation in the Middle East by saying “we are firmly moving ahead with our scheduled events”. The events also includes UFC Fight Night in Azerbaijan, which is also taking place on June 27. Shapiro went on to say this is made possible by TKO’s own commitment and their respective partners “even and despite a challenging environment.”
Shapiro also said that despite Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fun pulling their funding of the LIV Golf league, “our partners in Saudi Arabia have confirmed that will not be the case with TKO. Their commitment to our properties in 2026 and beyond is unwavering.” He then added that following Night of Champions, the six WWE, UFC and Zuffa Boxing event will go on in the Middle East as planned.
“The demand is real, our partners are committed, and we are leaning in.
