MJF defeated Darby Allin in a title vs. hair match at Sunday’s AEW Double or Nothing, to become the new AEW World Champion. MJF is now a three-time AEW World Champion.
Below is an excerpt from Alex Kahrs’ AEW Double or Nothing recap of how it all went down.
Darby is bleeding, seemingly cut by something on the way down as he drags MJF down the ramp and into the ring. Darby falls backward for a moment but recovers, climbing up top for a Coffin Drop…but MJF kicks out at two to save his hair! He is struggling to get back up however, and this allows Darby to cinch in a Scorpion Deathlock…before he drops to the mat, breaking the hold from what seems to be passing out.
MJF starts to get back in control, before taking a Scorpion Death Drop by the champ. Darby goes up top for a Coffin Drop, but gets intercepted on the turnbuckle by the challenger…who counters into an avalanche tombstone piledriver! He follows up with a side headlock takeover, sticking it to his rival to pick up the win and regain the world title.
