Wrestleview is sad to report that independent Mexican wrestler Tempo (real name Tony Cirio, Jr.), has passes away, following a hit and run accident in Mexico on Friday.
According to El Universal, with information gathered, Tempo had left his father’s house and was heading to a wrestling event scheduled at the Mexican Electrical Workers Union gym in the Coapa area, Coyoacán borough, where he was announced as the main event.
The incident occurred on Eje 3 Oriente, Francisco del Paso y Troncoso, near the Juventino Rosas neighborhood, close to the Recreo station of Metrobús Line 5, noted by El Universal.
El Universal also notes that witness accounts indicate moments before the impact, there was an alleged traffic altercation between Tempo, who was driving his motorcycle and the driver of another vehicle. Subsequently, the vehicle allegedly struck Tempo, who was thrown from his motorcycle. It was added that some witnesses reported the driver had fled the scene. At the time of the report, El Universal noted these accounts will be verified by the authorities as part of their investigation.

The report further notes that Tempo’s death has triggered reactions among fans and fellow wrestlers. Tempo’s family is renowned and well known in Mexico, as having a rich wrestling history in the country. Tempo (the son of Tony Cirio, Sr), was also a member of the Reyes Dynasty, which included Cien Caras and Máscara Año 2000. He wrestled for AAA.
