For the first time ever, AEW will hold a Survival of the Fittest Tournament to determine a new TBS Champion.
Tony Schiavone made the announcement during Saturday’s Collision. He said it will consist of six matches with six women taking place this month to determine who will qualifies for a spot in the Survival of the Fittest match that, which will be held during the July 1 episode of Dynamite at the Viejas Arena in San Diego, California. The winner will be crowned the new AEW TBS Champion.
During a backstage segment on the May 20 Dynamite/Collision show Willow Nightingale announced she was was relinquishing the TBS Title due to a shoulder injury. She won the title from Mercedes Mone’ back on the December 31, 2025 episode of Dynamite.
