According to PWInsider Elite, the contract for current TNA Champion Mike Santana is expected to expire next month.
The report also notes WWE has shown interest in Santana previously. He has made several appearances on NXT as part of the current multi-year agreement between the NXT brand and TNA.
Santana and his long-time tag team partner were part of AEW and made their debut on the inaugural episode of Dynamite, joining Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle faction. Prior to joining AEW, Santana and Ortiz were called LAX (Latin American Exchange). Santana left AEW in March 2024 after requesting his release multiple times. He left AEW due to severe creative and mental burnout, the dissolution of real-life friendship with Ortiz and the need to step away to for taking care of himself and his personal struggles to achieve sobriety.
Santana returned to TNA at the 2024 Rebellion pay-per-view.
