WCW Nitro kicks off with the legendary Nitro video. Steve McMichael is not on the announce team, Bischoff says that McMichael is in training for the match against Ric Flair and Arn Anderson. A Slamboree video package airs.

Fire and Ice (Scott Norton and Ice Train) vs. Steiner Brothers

The bell rings and we are under way. Scott and Ice Train start the match. Ice Train with a hip toss but Scott with a hip toss. Scott goes for the cover but Ice Train kicks out. Scott runs towards Ice Train but Ice Train with a shoulder tackle. He goes for the cover but Scott kicks out. Ice Train to the ropes but Scott with an overhead belly to belly suplex. Norton and Rick are tagged in. Norton with right hands and a clothesline. He climbs the second rope and Norton with a splash. Norton with a shoulder tackle and a clothesline. He runs towards Rick but Rick moves out of the way and Rick with a German suplex. Rick with a clothesline. He goes for the cover but Norton kicks out. Scott is tagged in. Scott with a full nelson suplex. He throws Norton to the outside of the ring. Scott climbs the top rope and he lands a double axe handle. He throws Norton back into the ring. Scott to the ropes but Norton with a Samoan drop. He goes for the cover but Scott kicks out. Ice Train is tagged in but Scott with a suplex. Rick is tagged in and a double clothesline. Norton is tagged in and they double team him. In comes Scott and Rick is thrown to the outside. Norton clotheslines Scott to the outside of the ring. Ice Train with a body slam onto Rick. He grabs RIck but Rick with a body slam. The referee calls for the bell.

Winners: No contest

Roy’s thoughts: The tag team division was very good. This was a solid match and just a brawl.

Ric Flair with Miss Elizabeth and Woman vs. Eddie Guerrero

The bell rings and we are under w3ay. Eddie with a head lock take down. He goes for the cover but Flair kicks out. Eddie throws Flair to the ropes and Eddie with a drop kick. Eddie with a head lock but Flair with a right hand. Flair with a chop but Eddie with right hands. Eddie with a chop to the chest. He throws Flair to the ropes and Eddie with a back body drop. Eddie with a drop kick and Flair falls to the outside of the ring. Flair begins walking to the back and he grabs a steel chair. The referee grabs it from Flair and Flair gets angry. Flair gets in the ring and Eddie with a shoulder tackle. Eddie with right hands. Eddie with chops to the chest. Eddie grabs Flair but Flair with a poke to the eyes.

-Commercial Break-

Back from commercial, Eddie with a clothesline. Eddie climbs the top rope and he lands a sunset flip cover but Flair kicks out. Eddie gets Flair in the corner but Flair with an atomic drop. Flair with a knee to the face. Flair with chops to the chest. He throws Eddie to the ropes but Eddie rolls him but Eddie kicks out. Flair with a back suplex. Flair goes for the Figure Four, Eddie reverses it into a cover but Flair kicks out. Flair goes for a knee to the face but Eddie moves out of the way. Eddie with a Figure Four Leg Lock onto Flair but Flair gets to the ropes. Flair rolls to the outside of the ring, Eddie climbs the top rope, goes for a double axe handle but Flair moves out of the way and Eddie hits the barricade. Flair with a suplex and he gets back into the ring. Flair with a vertical suplex. He goes for the cover but Eddie kicks out. He throws Eddie to the ropes but Eddie with a cross body. He goes for the cover but Flair kicks out. Eddie with a chop to the chest. He throws Flair into the turnbuckle but Flair flips over and lands on the ring apron. Eddie with a drop kick and Flair falls to the outside of the ring. Eddie throws Flair back into the ring. Eddie gets on the ring apron and goes for a sunset flip but Flair with a right hand. Flair grabs Eddie but Eddie with a right hand. Eddie grabs Flair by the arm, jumps up to the top rope, walks the top rope and lands a hurricanrana. Eddie with a body slam. He climbs the top rope and Eddie with a frog splash. Eddie gets up and he hurt his knee. Flair gets Eddie into the Figure Four Leg Loc. The referee looks at Eddie and Flair uses the ropes for leverage. With the Figure Four locked in, the referee makes the count to three.

Winner: Ric Flair

Gene Okerlund is with Flair, Miss Elizabeth and Woman on the outside of the ring. There is a table with food at ringside and Flair begins to eat. Okerlund tells Flair that he heard that Randy Savage is in the arena. Flair says that Savage is locked up because he tried to break up an evening that Flair had with the girls. Flair tells Savage that he is teaching his wife a new way of life. Flair says Steve McMichael’s wife follows him around like he owes her money.

Roy’s thoughts: Ric Flair made Eddie Guerrero, who was already good, make him look even better. A fun match.

Back from commercia, Ric Flair, Miss Elizabeth and Woman are at the commentary table with Eric Bischoff and Bobby Heenan. Flair brought the food with him. Flair tells Heenan that he can touch the girls but hands off for Bischoff.

World Tag Team Championship Match: Sting and Lex Luger (c’s) vs. Faces of Fear (The Barbarian and Meng)

The bell rings and we are under way. Luger and Meng start the match. Luger with a shoulder tackle. He throws Meng to the ropes but Meng with a drop toe hold. Meng throws Luger to the ropes but Luger with a body slam. He grabs Meng but Meng with a back suplex. The Barbarian is tagged in and he goes for an elbow drop but Luger moves out of the way. Luger with an arm bar and Sting is tagged in

-Commercial Break-

Back from commercial, Sting clotheslines The Barbarian. He throws The Barbarian to the ropes and Sting with a bear hug. Sting throws The Barbarian to the ropes and goes for a drop kick but The Barbarian moves out of the way. Meng is tagged in and Meng with a Boston crab but Meng lets go of the hold. Meng with a headbutt. The Barbarian is tagged in and he hits Sting with a right hand. Meng is tagged back in. MEng with a chop to the chest. The Barbarian is tagged back in and they double team Sting. The Barbarian goes for the cover but Luger breaks it up. The Barbarian places Sting on the top rope. The Barbarian on the top rope and The Barbarian with an over head belly to belly suplex. He goes for the cover but Sting breaks it up. Meng is tagged in and they both climb opposite top ropes. Meng and The Barbarian with diving headbutts. Meng goes for the cover but Luger distracts the referee. The referee turns around and counts but Sting kicks out. Meng grabs Sting but Sting with right hands. He goes for the tag but Meng picks Sting up and gives him an atomic drop. The Barbarian is tagged in. The Barbarian with a back breaker. He goes for the cover but Sting kicks out. The Barbarian climbs the top rope and goes for a headbutt but Sting moves out of the way. Luger is tagged in and Luger with right hands. He throws The Barbarian to the ropes and Luger with a back body drop. In comes Meng and Luger with a back body drop. Luger with clotheslines. He goes for the cover but Meng breaks it up. In comes Sting and Meng throws Luger to the outside of the ring. Luger throws Meng into the ring post. The Barbarian places Sting on the second rope and The Barbarian climbs the top rope. Luger holds onto The Barbarian’s leg. Sting with a right hand and The Barbarian falls onto the mat. Luger goes for the cover and gets the pin.

Winners: Still World Tag Team Champions, Sting and Lex Luger

We cut to the outside and Gene Okerlund is with several police officers and with Randy Savage. Okerlund tells Savage that Savage cannot get into the building but WCW officials are meeting for Savage’s future. Savage tells him that he wants Okerlund to give them a message. He tells them to be careful about what they do with his future. He says for them to make the right decision. Savage tries to get in but the officers stop him.

Roy’s thoughts: Another good tag team match. Sting and Lex Luger are somehow still Champions but Faces of Fear could have been a great tag team if given a proper run.

-Commercial Break-

Diamond Dallas Page vs. Brad Armstrong

The bell rings and we are under way. Armstrong with an arm bar but DDP makes it to the ropes. Armstrong with an arm bar. Armstrong grabs DDP but DDP with an arm bar. Armstrong with a right hand but DDP with a right hand. Armstrong with a modified snap mare and a drop kick. DDP falls onto the ring apron. Armstrong grabs DDP but DDP hangs him up on the top rope. DDP gets in the ring and DDP with a swinging neck breaker.

-Commercial Break-

Back from commercial, DDP with a clothesline. He goes for the cover but Armstrong kicks out. DDP goes for a spear in the corner but Armstrong moves out of the way and DDP hits the ring post. Armstrong with an atomic drop. Armstrong slams DDP into the top turnbuckle. Armstrong with an snap mare. He goes for the cover but DDP kicks out. Armstrong climbs the top rope and he lands a cross body. He goes for the cover but DDP kicks out. He grabs DDP but DDP with a spinning elbow to the face. DDP with the Diamond Cutter. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.

Winner: Diamond Dallas Page

Gene Okerlund gets in the ring and DDP tells him that last night, he shocked the world. He says when it was all said and done, there can only be one and that was him. He says he is the new lord of the rings and he has one person to thank, himself. He says self high five. Okerlund says that they reviewed the footage of Slamboree. We see DDP getting the pin and he had a foot on the floor. He says they will not reverse the decision. DDP says his foot hit the apron. Okerlund says they will not grant DDP the Championship match against The Giant at the Great American Bash. He says the title shot will go to Lex Luger. DDP grabs Oekrlund but Okerlund tells him to get his hands off him and DDP leaves the ring.

Roy’s thoughts: Not a bad match but this was all about how DDP will not be getting a title shot. They give DDP a reason to have a bone to pick.

-Commercial Break-

World Heavyweight Championship Match – The Giant (c) with Jimmy Hart vs. Arn Anderson with Kevin Sullivan

The bell rings and we are under way. Arn goes for a waist lock but The Giant gets out of it. Arn with shoulder tackles but The Giant isn’t moving. The Giant with a body slam. The Giant throws Arn into the turnbuckle. He throws Arn to the ropes and The Giant with a back body drop. Arn rolls to the outside of the ring. The Giant to the outside and he throws Arn abck into the ring. As The Giant is getting into the ring, Arn pulls the rope up and low blows The Giant. Arn gets on the second rope and he lands a double axe. Arn grabs The Giant but The Giant lifts him up and Chokeslams Arn. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.

Winner: Still World Heavyweight Champion, The Giant

Eric Bischoff says that Ric Flair just left the announce team and Nitro goes off the air.

Roy’s thoughts: Your typical good WCW Nitro World Championship main event.

This was a fun show, a lot of tag teams, a lot of wrestling and just an enjoyable show.
