WWE SmackDown kicks off with clips of last weeks show.
Live in the arena, we see Cody Rhodes walking into the arena. He is stopped by Nick Aldis and Aldis tells Cody that Gunther did not tell him the stipulation yet but he will tell them tonight. They shake hands and Cody continues to walk. He is stopped by The Usos. Jey tells Cody that tonight is his King of the Ring match and when he wins the tournament, he will go after Cody’s WWE Championship. Cody tells him he hopes he is right because if anyone here deserves to chase the title, it’s him. But he hopes it’s Jey’s decision and not Roman’s. Cody walks away.
We cut to ringside and Wade is with Joe. Wade says that Rhea’s knee injury happened in Italy and they are evaluating the injury. He says based off how her knee responds to the treatment, it will determine how long she will be out of action.
Clips of last week’s Women’s Tag Team match airs and we see Jade pinning Tiffany Stratton.
We cut to Cathy Kelly who is backstage with Jade Cargill, Michin and B-Fab. JAde says she built a career out of pressure. If she won the Queen of the Ring once, she can win it twice. Jade tells Rhea that she is getting her title back. AS she is talking, Charlotte Flair’s music hits.
Queen of the Ring: Charlotte Flair vs. Jade Cargill with Michin and B-Fab vs. Sol Ruca vs. Lyra Valkyria
The bell rings and we are under way. Flair, Lyra and Sol triple team Jade. Flair and Sol try to double suplex Jade but Jade double suplexes them. Jade and Flair are face to face. Flair with chops to the chest and a German suplex. Flair grabs Jade but B-Fab grabs Flair’s leg and she pulls Flair to the outside of the ring. Out come Alexa Bliss and Tiffany Stratton. They fight off with B-Fab and Michin. Back in the ring, Flair with a cross body onto Jade.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Sol and Jade are in the ring. Sol with a springboard cross body but Jade catches her. Lyra with a drop and Sol falls onto Jade. Flair is on the top rope but Lyra climbs to the second rope. Jade lifts Lyra up who lifts Flair and they fall onto the mat. Jade goes for the cover onto Lyra but Flair breaks it up. Jade grabs Flair but Flair with a right hand. Flair to the ropes and Flair with a clothesline. Sol with a drop kick onto Flair. Jade goes a spear onto Sol but Sol moves out of the way. Sol gets on the ring apron and Lyra hits her with a right hand. Lyra with a suicide dive onto Jade. Sol climbs the top rope and lands a moon sault Lyra, Flair and Jade. Sol throws Lyra back into the ring. Sol with a spring board splash. She goes for the cover but Lyra kicks out.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Jade is on the top rope. Flair and Sol are on the second rope and they double suplex her. In comes Lyra but Sol hits her with a right hand. Jade grabs Flair and she goes for the cover but Lyra breaks it up. Jade throws Lyra to the outside of the ring. Sol with the Sol Crusher onto Jade. She goes for the cover but Lyra pulls Sol to the outside of the ring. Lyra get son the top rope and lands a leg drop onto Jade. In comes Flair and Flair gets her in the Figure Four Leg Lock and Lyra taps out.
Winner: Charlotte Flair
We cut to Tiffany Stratton who is stopped by Cathy Kelley. In come Michin and B-Fab but in comes Chelsea Green with a kendo stick. Green begins to yell and they walk away.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Nick Aldis is with Gunther. He tells Aldis that for his match, he can’t trust Nick’s choice of a referee. Gunther says he will pick the referee for the match. Aldis asks Gunther who the referee will be and Gunther tells him he will let him know tonight.
We cut to Finn Balor who is with Cathy Kelley but in comes R-Truth. He says the Judgment Day is back together. He says he is thinking about the proper way of introducing Royce Keys to the Judgment Day. In comes Damian Priest and R-Truth says Judgment Day is back together. Priest angrily welcomes him to SmackDown and Finn tells him he is happy to be on SmackDown. Finn says he has a match and he is going to get ready.
-Commercial Break-
Brie and Paige vs. Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid with Jayce Jane
The bell rings and we are under way. Brie and Henley start the match. Brie with a clothesline and a Russian leg sweep. She goes for the cover but Henley kicks out. Paige is tagged in and they double team her. Paige with a knee to the face. She goes for the cover but Henley kicks out. She grabs Henley but Henley kicks her away. Reid is tagged in. Brie is tagged in and in comes Henley. Brie with a drop kick. Brie with kicks onto Reid and Paige with knees onto Henley. Brie to the ropes but Jane trips her, Reid with right hands. Henley is tagged in and they double team Brie. Henley goes for the cover but Brie kicks out. She throws Brie to the ropes but Henley with a right hand. Reid distracts the referee, Paige is tagged in but he doesn’t see the tag. Reid is tagged in and they double team Paige. Reid goes for the cover but Brie kicks out.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Henley and Brie are in the ring. Henley with a headbutt and Reid is tagged in. They go for a double clothesline but Brie tags Paige in. Paige with a German suplex onto Reid. Paige with a fisherman’s suplex and a kick to the face. Paige goes for the cover but Reid kicks out. Paige with the PTO but in comes Henley and she breaks it up. Paige throws Henley to the outside of the ring. Paige with the rampage. She goes for the cover but Henley breaks it up. In comes Brie and she hits Henley with a drop kick. Reid with a knee to the face onto Brie. Paige rolls Reid up but Reid kicks out. Reid with a super kick and Henley is tagged in. Henley with a flapjack. Brie throws Reid to the outside of the ring. Brie is distracted by the referee. Paige with the PTO but Jane pulls Henley towards the ropes. The referee sees Jane and he kicks her away from ringside. With the referee distracted, Henley rolls Paige up but Brie reverses it and Paige rolls Reid up. The referee turns around and Paige gets the pin.
Winners: Paige and Brie
We cut to Sami Zayn who is backstage. He is talking to Johnny Gargano who is laying down and Candice LeRae. She talks to Gargano and asks him when he is going to do something about it. Zayn says she is right, he will go talk to Cody about it and he walks away.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Danhausen is in his lab and in come Garza and Berto. They tell him that he has to curse the Knicks. They give him a big bag and walk away. In comes Matt Cardona. He wants someone cursed and Danhausen takes his watch. In comes Kit Wilson and The Miz. Wilson says Miz is cursed and Miz acts like a zombie. Wilson begins to break things in Danhausen’s lab but he gets electrocuted.
We cut to the ring and out comes Sami Zayn. He says the ride or dies showed up for him in Europe. He says they have two choices, they can sit there and boo him or they can ride or die with the last real good guy. He says he is out there because somethings has been brewing for months, he wants to clear the air. He calls Cody Rhodes to the ring. Cody’s music hits and out he comes.
Cody asks the fans and Zayn what they want to talk about. Zayn asks him if he can not be the American Nightmare and just be Cody, be his friend. He says there has been a pattern for a few months, misunderstandings. He says he keeps helping him and he keeps paying the price for it. The fans sing Cody, Cody Rhodes and Zayn says he hears them. Zayn says Cody made him feel like the worst person in the world a few weeks ago when Gunther was choking Cody out. Zayn says that Cody deserved it but last week, Zayn helped Cody. But when he did that, Cody was standing and he wasn’t. Zayn asks if this is an accident and he wants Cody to tell him the truth. Cody says that Zayn is asking him to explain wrestling and Zayn knows what wrestling is.
Rhodes says this is competition and he wants him to turn it off. He says that they should not be standing there, to think about two years ago. The biggest moment of Cody’s career, WrestleMania 40, a memory he shares with Zayn ubut Zayn cuts him off. Zayn says he was the first guy in the ring that night when Cody finished his story. He was there before Kevin Owens, Jey Uso, LA Knight, CM Punk, John Cena or Randy Orton.
He says if anyone should have had sour grapes of Cody winning, it should have been him but he was and is happy for him. Because he is a good guy. Out of everyone he listed, how many are still Cody’s friends. He asks Cody if they are all the problem or if Cody is the problem. Cody says when the title gets involved, he could not be honest with them but he is honest with Zayn and Zayn tells him to be honest with him for once. Cody says he is standing out there for this, he is listening to this. He says the fans are booing Zayn and the reason is that Zayn does suck, he whines, he is crying, he is not the Zayn that they fell in love with, that they took a ride with, he is not his Zayn, he is something else, he is desperate. Cody says not to pretend that it’s about anything between them other than the WWE Championship. He says he owes Zayn an apology, he is sorry that he has it and Zayn never will. Zayn slaps Cody in the face. Zayn apologizes and Cody slaps him back. Cody asks him if they are good now and Zayn leaves the ring.
Zayn grabs a steel chair and gets on the ring apron. Zayn throws the chair and leaves the ring.
We cut to Solo Sikoa who is backstage and in comes JAcob Fatu. He says he has a message from the OTC. He says it has been way too long and long enough, he says the OTC needs him to come home. Solo laughs and says that is not home, that’s a dog house and Fatu is his lap dog. He says he does not understand. He asks Fatu what happened to him, he used to be a killer, a man that everyone was afraid of, the Samoan werewolf, the man who was close to beating Roman and ow he is in his background. Solo says Solo is standing and Fatu comes and delivers a message from his Tribal Chief. Solo tells him that Roman has done nothing but embarrass Fatu, humiliate him, made him kneel down like a dog in front of the whole world and in front of their family. And that is not how you treat someone that you love. But he wants Solo to come back and Solo says he is not going back. He tells Fatu to tell Roman that he can go to hell.
Fatu says he gets it, he understand everything he is talking about. But he made his decision and he is standing on business. If the OTC sends him for Solo, he will come for him. Solo laughs and he tells Fatu to tell Roman that if he wants him to come back home, he can come and get him.
-Commercial Break-
AAA Cruiserweight Championship – Rey Fenix (c) vs. Axiom
The bell rings and we are under way. Rey with a head lock but Axiom throws him to the ropes. Rey with a shoulder tackle. Rey to the ropes and Rey with a drop kick. Axiom rolls to the outside of the ring and Rey with a suicide dive. He throws Axiom back into the ring. Rey climbs the top rope and jumps but Axiom grabs him. Rey gets out of it. Rey to the ropes but Axiom grabs him. Rey gets out of it. Rey with a dragon suplex. Axiom goes for the cover but Rey kicks out. Axiom with an arm bar submission but Rey gets to the ropes. Rey gets on the ring apron but Rey with a kick to the side of the head. Axiom gets back in the ring. Rey climbs the top rope, jumps, Axiom moves out of the way, Rey lands on his feet but Axiom with a drop kick. Rey falls to the outside of the ring. Axiom with a moon sault off the top rope.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Rey with a spinning kick to the face. Rey climbs the second rope but Axiom with a kick to the side of the head. Axiom climbs the second rope but Rey with a headbutt and Axiom falls down. Rey with the adios amigos. Rey climbs the top rope and lands a cross body. He goes for the cover but Axiom kicks out. Rey goes for a springboard but Axiom slides in between the second rope and he trips Rey up. Axiom climbs the top rope and he lands a drop kick. Axiom goes for the cover but Rey kicks out. Axiom goes for the Golden Ratio, Rey moves out of the way and Rey with a modified brainbuster. He goes for the cover but Axiom kicks out. Rey grabs Axiom but Axiom throws him into the turnbuckle. Axiom goes for a kick but Rey moves out of the way and Rey kicks the turnbuckle. Rey places Axiom on the top rope. Rey gets on the second rope and to the third. Axiom grabs Rey and he lands the Spanish fly. He goes for the cover but Rey kicks out. Axiom goes for a kick but Rey with a super kick. Rey with a spinning animal kick. He places Axiom on the top rope. Rey gets him on his shoulders and he lands the Mexican Musclebuster. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Still AAA Cruiserweight Champion, Rey Fenix
We cut to the back and Nick Aldis is in his office. In comes Gunther and he says he has made a decision. Gunther tells him that for this to happen smoothly, he needs someone with experience but also he needs the human factor into consideration. Someone with a heart in the right place, a good guy, maybe the last real good guy. He says his decision for his title match next week against Cody, the referee will be Sami Zayn. Gunther tells him to make it happen and he walks away.
We see Trick Williams and Lil Yachty arriving to the arena.
-Commercial Break-
Trick’s music hits and out he comes with Lil Yachty. Trick says he is the leader of the new school and the fact that he lost last week pisses him off. He says his name is Trick Williams, he is still the United States Champion, still Hollywood Trick, still Mr. Lemon Pepper Stepper, never mind who you thought I was, I’m Trick James, bitch.
Ricky Saints comes out but Carmelo Hayes comes out. Hayes pushes Saints out of the way and he walks to the ring. Saints gets in the ring. Hayes says since he got the title, he keeps listening to catch phrase after catch phrase. Hayes tells Trick to pick him or Ricky, what are they doing. Saints says he beat Hayes and he should be the contender for the title. Hayes says they need to cut Saints out of the picture because before he got involved, he and Trick were fighting. Saints he beat Hayes last week but Hayes tells him he also beat him.
Trick tells them to shut the hell up because the truth is that it doesn’t matter. He tells them to figure it out and whoever wins, can go see him. But until then, shut the hell up when grown folks are talking. As Trick is leaving the ring, Saints pushes Hayes into Trick and Trick falls to the outside of the ring. Hayes with a DDT onto. Saints. Trick gets in the ring and he throws Hayes into the ring post. Trick with the Bookend onto Saints. Trick’s music hits.
We cut to the back and Cathy Kelley is with Royce Keys. In comes Solo. He says he needs Keys to listen to him. He says The Bloodline are there, the same one that has been running it for years. He knows what they are doing, The Bloodline is there to make sure that Jey wins tonight. He says Jacob is there to help them, the one that Keys calls family. He says that does not sound like family. Solo tells him that he does not want Keys to be a casualty in Roman’s war.
