During tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, the inaugural AEW World Tag Team Champions were crowned.
SCU, consisting of Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky, defeated The Lucha Bros (Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix) in the finals of the AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament to become the inaugural champions. Scorpio Sky was a replacement for Christopher Daniels, who was injured in an attack prior to a match by The Lucha Bros.
SCU won their opportunity by defeating The Best Friends and The Dark Order in the tournament. The Lucha Bros defeated The Jurassic Express and Private Party to make it to the finals.
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express were supposed to present the titles to the winners, but they were attacked earlier in the night by Santana and Ortiz. Ricky Morton would take a powerbomb off the stage. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express are currently the NWA World Tag Team Champions.
