Shaquille O’Neal’s new WarnerMedia contract opens up a possible AEW appearance

Shaq possibly to AEW

The Athletic is reporting that Shaquille O’Neal’s new contract with WarnerMedia has a provision in it that allows for an appearance for All Elite Wrestling.

O’Neal will be increasing his duties with Turner Media, but one sentence in the contract allows him to also make appearances for AEW. AEW normally airs every Wednesday on TNT, but the NBA Playoffs has disrupted the schedule and caused them to reschedule some events.

The Athletic reports that talks of O’Neal appearing for AEW are at the “embryonic stages,” but O’Neal did say, “I’d love to fight Cody. Write it. Print it. Text it to him. Call AEW up and tell them.”

O’Neal is a well-known supporter of professional wrestling and has made appearances with various companies through the years. O’Neal appeared at the 1994 WCW Bash at the Beach, guest hosted Monday Night Raw in 2009, and appeared with Hulk Hogan on Impact Wrestling.

Talks of a match have long been rumored and picked up when he appeared at WrestleMania 32 in the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. O’Neal was supposed to face The Big Show at WrestleMania 33, but his schedule did not allow for that to happen.
