Following his win over Joey Janela during the main event of tonight’s AEW Dynamite, Kenny Omega will be defend the championship against Rey Fenix.
As Don Callis was gloating over Omega’s win PAC, Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo came out. PAC told Omega he can’t call himself the World Champion until Fenix gets a title shot. Callis then tried to tell PAChe can’t make matches. PAC said he already spoke with Tony Khan, and the match is official for New Year’s Smash Night One on December 30.
Back on the October 21 episode of Dynamite, Omega defeated Penta in the first round of the World Title Eliminator Tournament, but a neck injury forced him out of the tournament.
