AEW World Title Match moved to June 26

AEW CEO and President Tony Khan appeared on today’s Busted Open Radio and announced the AEW Championship Match with Jungle Boy challenging Kenny Omega for the title is now set to take place on a special Saturday Night Dynamite Saturday, June 26 on TNT.

The match was originally scheduled to take place on the special Friday, June 11 episode.

Khan did not give a reason as to why the date of the match was changed.

Jungle Boy earned the title opportunity by winning the Casino Battle Royale at the Double or Nothing PPV last Sunday. AEW had announced after June Boy’s win, he would get his title match in “two weeks.

The NBA Playoffs airing on TNT on Wednesday nights has is the reason AEW is airing special Friday and Saturday timeslots throughout June.

Last week’s show aired Friday night live at 10:00 pm ET. Tonight’s Double or Nothing fallout show will also air live at 10:00 pm ET. Next week’s show will also air live on Friday, with the last two shows of the month airing on Saturday, June 19 and Saturday, June 26.
