Domino’s Pizza may pull ads from AEW TV following Chris Jericho/Nick Gage Match

Domino’s Pizza may pull ads from AEW TV

According to Front Office Sports, Domino’s Pizza is threatening to pull its advertising from all AEW Dynamite programming following the pizza cutter stunt that took place during the main event of Wednesday’s Fight for the Fallen special on TNT.

The bloody match saw Chris Jericho defeat hardcore GCW wrestler Nick Gage in a No Rules Match. There were several spots during the match where Gage used a pizza cutter to cut Jericho’s head open, including Gage cutting Jericho’s head open again during the picture in picture commercial break that featured a Domino’s pizza being sliced for delivery.

It was noted in the report from Front Office Sports that Domino’s was not involved with the commercial, nor had any foreknowledge of the pizza cutter spots, and that Domino’s may  pull its advertising schedule from all AEW programming.

Domino’s issued the following statement to Front Office Sports disavowing any involvement or knowledge of the promotion.

“We share the concerns expressed about this incident and the content of this TV-14 rated program, and are assessing our advertising presence on it going forward,” said Domino’s spokeswoman Jenny Fouracre-Petko.
