AEW News Bits 7/16/22: Another Talent Possibly Leaving; Andrade Provides Injury Status

There has been speculation that another AEW talent could be on his way out of the company.

Fuego Del Sol removed the avatar on his Twitter account and all his AEW references were removed. In addition, he has also deleted his tweets and his bio now directs promoters to email BookFuegoDS@gmail.com for all his bookings.

Fuego signed with AEW just under a year ago. His signing was included in a storyline on an episode of Rampage where he had to defeat Miro to win an AEW contract. Even though he lost the match, Tony Khan came out afterwards and handed a contract to Fuego’s friend Sammy Guevara for Fuego to sign, making him officially part of the AEW roster that night.

Beside his few appearances on Rampage, Fuego has mainly been seen on Dark. He has also regularly wrestled on independent shows.

Fuego’s last appearance on AEW television was the July 6 episode of Dynamite, where he teamed up with Bear Country and Leon Ruffin vs. The Acclaimed and The Gunn Club.

This past Friday afternoon, Tony Khan answered a fan’s question on Twitter about why Andrade has not been wrestling as of late. Khan noted Andrade was hurt in his singles match against Rey Fenix on the June 24 episode of Rampage.

Andrade responded to another media outlet, saying that it’s nothing serious – only that he has inflammation in his ankle. In a prior tweet, Andrade said he expects to be back in the ring in a week or two.
