Tony Khan says his Tweet following Vince McMahon’s retirement announcement is a “factual statement”

During Saturday night’s ROH Death Before Dishonor PPV Media Scrum, Tony Khan clarified his Twitter post following Vince McMahon’s retirement.

Khan in his original Tweet (see below) from last Friday night, thanked the fans for their all their support and then said that he is the longest-tenured CEO in pro wrestling. He then went on to promote that night’s episode of Rampage on TNT.

When asked about the Tweet during the media scrum, Khan said he thought that it was a “factual statement.” Khan said the following:

“I was referencing AEW Rampage is on and just a fact. Of the big, major companies, of what I would consider The Big Three, I am the longest tenured. (NJPW President Takami) Ohbari and now there is a new CEO there (in WWE). If you consider it pro wrestling, then I think it’s a fair statement. I thought it was a factual statement, a note to promote Rampage, but that’s all it was. I can’t say anything else about it. I hopefully, maybe got some eyeballs on Rampage and I really care about Rampage a lot.”
