TMZ has released the arrest video from Jake Atlas’ arrest for domestic violence, which took place back on May 23. Atlas attempted to plead his case to the authorities by denigrating his partner.
Atlas (Kenny Marquez) told the officer that he is “an international trained superstar” and that his partner is a “nobody” and is “terrible at sex.”
As the officer responded to an inquiry as to whether he needs backup, Atlas then became more agitated, saying he has his rights like the officer has his rights. Atlas then again put down his partner using his skin color, but saying his partner is white, and that he should have right’s because he is Mexican. Atlas said the following to the police – “I will do what I need to do to protect myself against you.” Before that he said that he would not like the policemen use their “white power” against him.
Atlas refuses to answer the police officer’s questions about what happened. Eventually, another officer approached Atlas and put him handcuffs.
The domestic violence case against Atlas was dropped this past June. He issued a formal apology in July, that included him saying that he was checking into an outpatient facility to deal with his mental health and substance abuse issues.
The incident occurred when Atlas was drinking at Big Daddy’s Roadhouse in Orlando on the night before. Atlas had asked his partner to stay at the bar and drink with him because Atlas wanted him to go to a friend’s house and be intimate together.
Atlas has not wrestled since tearing his ACL in a match against Adam Cole on an episodeo of AEW Rampage this past January. He is no longer under contract with AEW and is a free agent.
