Tony Khan would only allow Billy Gunn to appear on WWE Raw for DX reunion if AEW was mentioned

According to a report from F4WOnline, AEW CEO and President Tony Khan was willing to let Billy Gunn to appear at the recent 25-year Anniversary of D-Generation X on WWE Raw, but only if WWE would have acknowledged that he worked for AEW.

The report further notes that WWE was not willing to mention that Gunn worked for AEW in exchange for his appearance on Raw.  It was noted that WWE did make mention that Mickie James worked for IMPACT Wrestling and was the Knockouts Champion when she made an appearance in this year’s Women’s Royal Rumble Match.

F4WOnline went on to say that Khan agreed to let Gunn appear on Raw, but it was said that WWE stalled on the yes or no and then at the last minute agreed not to go forward.

Gunn did appear at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony in 2019 while under contract to AEW. Other AEW talent has also been permitted to appear on WWE programming in the past as well including Paul Wight, Bryan Danielson, and Chris Jericho submitting videos for John Cena’s 20-year WWE Anniversary. Jericho also appeared on an episode of The Broken Skull Sessions with Steve Austin on the WWE Network last year.

“Road Dogg” said on a recent episode of his “Oh You Didn’t Know podcast, that it “broke his heart” Gunn was not included in the DX Reunion.
