During the AEW Full Gear Media Scrum, Tony Khan commented on the status of the AEW Interim Women’s World Championship.
Saturday night at the pay-per-view, Jamie Hayter defeated Toni Storm to win the AEW Interim Women’s World Championship. Storm previously won the Title at All Out after Thunder Rosa announced she was unable to defend the title due to being injured.
During the AEW Full Gear post-show media scrum, Khan stated the situation is still under consideration with Thunder Rosa. He then said that he will have to make a decision about the status once he has a better update regarding when Rosa could possibly return.
Rosa is currently out of action will a back injury since August.
“It’s a new championship reign and I have been evaluating that and it’s something we’re taking under consideration, certainly have been trying to give Thunder Rosa every opportunity to comeback and defend the championship. It’s been a few months now and when we get a better timeline for her return…’ll have to make a decision about whether to continue with the interim or to make the interim champion possibly some kind of an opportunity to become the lineal champion.”
