TBS Title Match, QTV debut set for Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, updated card

Jade Cargill will defend the TBS Championship in an open challenge on this Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.

It was announced during Friday’s Rampage, that Cargill will put the title on the line against an unannounced Canadian opponent, when Dynamite and Rampage rolls into the Canada Life Center in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

On Friday, there was speculation that Cargill’s opponent could be Taya Valkyrie, who was said to have finished up with IMPACT Wrestling. However, reports indicated that Valkyrie could also be headed back to WWE, where she wrestled in NXT as Franky Monet from the time she signed with WWE in February 2021, up until her release in November of that same year.

The Death Dollz (Valkyrie & Jessicka) are defending the IMPACT Knockouts Tag Team Titles against The Coven (Taylor Wilde & KiLynn King) on IMPACT Wrestling this coming Thursday on AXS-TV. That match was previously taped recently in Las Vegas, Nevada

Cargill’s last title defense was on the February 17 taped episode of the AEW Rampage Slam Dunk show, where she successfully defended the title against Vertvixen. She defeated Ruby Soho on the January 5, 2022 episode of Dynamite that debuted on TBS in the tournament finals, to become the first TBS Champion. Cargill’s ongoing reign is the longest reign of any AEW championship at over 417 days.

Also just one week after assisting Powerhouse Hobbs to defeat Wardlow for the TNT Title, QT Marshall’s QTV will debut on Dynamite, with Hobbs as the special guest. In a backstage segment that aired during Friday night’s AEW Rampage, Hobbs appeared with Marshall, who revealed QTV would make its debut and that we would get the real scoop on who really had broken into Wardlow’s rental car.
