Tony Schiavone reveals when his AEW contract expires

Tony Schiavone revealed on a recent episode of his What Happened When podcast with Conrad Thompson, that his current contract with AEW ends in April 2024.

Thompson brought up to Schiavone the apparent rumors that he (Schiavone), has a lifetime contract with AEW.

That’s a f—ing lie. Unless my life ends by April of next year.”

Thompson then told Schiavone he believes that AEW would give him a pay bump next April, when his current deal is up.

There is no guarantee that they are going to re-sign me,” said Schiavone. “There’s no guarantee on that. That’s how I approach life. No guarantees. Klondike Bill told me one time, ‘The job is a day-to-day thing, Tony.’ That’s how I approach it. ‘The job is a day-to-day thing.'”

Conrad then said he did not understand (in an upset tone), as why Schiavone would even think that AEW would not re-sign him and guaranteed he would get a pay bump.

Schiavone then closed the segment of the show by saying, “I really don’t think so but it doesn’t matter because I’m living a good life. I don’t need the bumpski.”

In additional to commentary in AEW, Schiavone is a senior producer and host of the AEW Control Center on YouTube. He has been with AEW since October 2019.
