WWE reportedly has clause in contracts with arenas preventing AEW from holding events within weeks of WWE shows

WWE reportedly does not want AEW holding events in certain arenas so close to them.

According to Fightful per a report pulled from the Wrestling Observer, it is said that WWE has put clauses in its deals with arenas that book both WWE and AEW and that AEW is not allowed to hold their event a certain number of weeks before or after a WWE event.

It was further noted the clause also reportedly says that AEW and the arena cannot announce the show or sell tickets until after WWE has held their show.

The report concluded by noting the same arenas WWE and AEW have ran, which has been the Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati, OH and the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC.

AEW will debut at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida for a live episode of Dynamite and Rampage taping on August 2. That venue was where WWE held the ThuderDome shows for Raw and SmackDown during the COVID-19 pandemic.
