Amidst reports of an impending return to AEW, Santana posted a new video on Friday via social media.
This follows a post a few days prior simply stating the date June 9, and a similar video on April 21.
It has been nearly a year since Santana was last seen in AEW, suffering a knee injury during the Blood & Guts match on June 29, 2022.
This comes about a week after Dave Meltzer reported on the return in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, also addressing the rumored falling out with Ortiz, who is not featured in the recent videos posted by Santana:
“Santana is going to be ready to return soon. Not sure where he’ll fit in since he and Ortiz had a falling out. They are better off as a team than singles and Ortiz hasn’t done much since Santana was gone. They were one of the better teams in the company.”
Ortiz was last seen on AEW programming on the 3/1 edition of Dynamite as part of the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match.
