Tony Khan talks UFC, WWE, reveals he tried to get AI to write an episode of Dynamite

AEW CEO, President and General Manager Tony Khan spoke to CNBC’s Street Signs this past Thursday. He discussed a number of topics, which included the upcoming merger between UFC and WWE.

Khan was also asked how analytics might influence some of his decisions as far as who is helping sell the most tickets, who is driving the most merchandise sales and pay-per-view sales. He did say that the noise in the arena can be a great business indicator.

He was even asked if its insane to ever consider the possibility of actually using AI to generate promos or book television shows. He said it’s not an insane idea, but that ChatGPT is currently limited to events only up to 2021. He also said ChatGPT knew what AEW Dynamite was, but that it did the same thing that everybody does when they first get into wrestling and really all fans would do – is try to put too much into what you can actually get done in a 2-hour show. Khan said he re-trained it and it took the criticism very well, and then came back with alternative ideas.
