Claudio Castagnoli discusses Elite-BCC feud and post-match sportsmanship

ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli spoke with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated after the Blood & Guts main event of the 7/19 edition of AEW Dynamite, in which Claudio and the Blackpool Combat Club went to war with The Golden Elite.

During the interview, Claudio discussed the feud between the two factions, and how the match showed that the BCC forced The Elite to raise their level:

“We lost that battle but we won the war. Thanks to the Blackpool Combat Club, now The Elite is better than ever. We brought them to a place they’ve never been.”

After the match, the remaining members of the BCC squad shook hands with their rivals in a show of sportsmanship, something Claudio remarked on as well:

“The post-match between the BCC and The Elite, with Kenny talking and we all shook hands, that probably should have been on television, but it shows that there is nothing like being there in-person. There is nothing like being there live.”

Castagnoli is set to defend the ROH World Championship against the revealed fifth member of his own squad for Blood & Guts, PAC, at ROH Death Before Dishonor available on Bleacher Report and other PPV providers.
