WWE Hall of Famer confirmed for contribution to AEW entrance theme

Chris Mueller of Bleacher Report posted on social media that Adam Copeland had given confirmation that his wife, fellow WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix, is the voice behind the intro to Copeland’s entrance theme in AEW:

The song that follows, “Metalingus” by Alter Bridge, has been Copeland’s theme since 2004, and the Rated R Superstar retained it for his debut in AEW thanks to the connections he has with the band stemming back nearly a decade (and, as Fightful Select had previously reported, because WWE simply never had the exclusive licensing rights to the song).

Copeland had previously responded to a question during the WrestleDream media scrum about whether he and Phoenix could be working together in AEW in the near future, stating:

“I mean, any time I get to be close to Beth obviously I’m gonna be super excited about that. I don’t know about the possibilities of that in the foreseeable, but I love being around her obviously.

And we’ve had a blast when we did get to work together. But where she will be instrumental without everyone knowing it is she’s my sounding board. So if you’ve seen me do something, or you see something that you think worked, it was always bounced off Beth and then she always gives me better ideas back. It’s kind of amazing to be married to a Hall of Famer, it’s pretty cool… who can suplex you.”

This situation does have a layer of humor to it, considering a post Phoenix made on social media shortly after her husband appeared at the AEW PPV event:
