PWInsider has reported that next week’s scheduled trial against Cash Wheeler will not be moving forward.
A legal notice was submitted by the Prosecutor’s office, opting to drop and abandon the case entirely.
A pre-trial hearing set for 5/14 along with the trial beginning 5/20 were dropped as a result, with the AEW star’s bond released and the case closed officially as of this afternoon.
Wheeler pled not guilty to all charges throughout the legal process, following his arrest in August 2023 following what was “believed to be a road rage incident” the month prior.
The former AEW World Tag Team Champion turned himself in for arraignment the day after, with his attorney stating Wheeler did not know the alleged victims.
Per the report, a conviction for aggravated assault with a firearm could have led to up to five years of imprisonment, five years of probation, and a $5,000 fine under Florida law.
