As first reported by Fightful Select and then confirmed by Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline, Jimmy Jacobs has departed AEW. The reports note that Jacobs, who worked both as a producer and part of the writing team, resigned this past week.
According Fightful Select’s report, Jacobs hit burnout out as of late and that AEW sees this as a way to freshen up the writing team.
Jacobs signed on with AEW back in June 2023 as a producer. Prior to joining AEW, he was part of the writing staff for IMPACT/TNA Wrestling. After leaving IMPACT/TNA, Jacobs then signed with WWE to be part of their writing team. However, WWE let him go after he posted a photo of himself with AEW’s The Elite faction for one of their YouTube shows, which was close to where WWE was hosting a show.
Jacobs wrestled in Ring of Honor and was part of the S.C.U.M and The Decade Factions. He made his return to ROH, for the first time since 2015 on the May 23, 2024 episode, losing to Satnam Singh.
