Kevin Night is signed to AEW and NJPW; Update on Skye Blue

Newly signed AEW talent Kevin Knight confirmed during an interview with The Takedown on SI, that in addition to signing with AEW, he also has signed a new deal with NJPW.

“Well I can actually say this right here, right now: I’m representing both AEW and New Japan. I’m still contracted with both companies, so there’s no threat – ‘The Jet’ is still here to stay.”

Knight also spoke on the process of signing with both AEW and NJPW:

“So it was just a matter of exploring all options and seeing where the best place may be for me. All respect to New Japan, all respect to all the places I’ve been before. You know I love going over to Japan, I love traveling the world, so it was just a matter of what works for my schedule and where do I feel most comfortable. And ultimately that led to me signing with both New Japan and AEW. It was definitely a different process because I’ve never gone through something like that.”

Knight was awarded an AEW contract, following his loss to Jay White back on the March 29 episode of Collision.

Skye Blue update

During a recent K & S WrestleFest Virtual signing, Skye Blue provided an update on her recovery.

Blue said she doesn’t know when she will return. She also noted that she can now walk, which is a plus. She added that she could remember when she had to butt-scoot up her stairs, something that she doesn’t have to do anymore.

Blue suffered the broken ankle back on the July 20, 2024 episode of Collision during her match against Hikaru Shida. The injury took place just a few minutes into the match when she took a crossbody on the outside from Shida. Blue was unable to continue, as the the match was then stopped by the referee. Blue was last seen on AEW programming during Zero Hour for the 2024 All In PPV, which took place in her home state of Illinois.

Blue’s real-life boyfriend Kyle Fletcher during his appearance on the April 1 episode of Good Karma Wrestling, said that Blue will be back sooner than everyone thinks. He also added her recovery has been challenging and that for him it has been rewarding helping her through it.
