During Saturday’s AEW Collision, after Hologram defeated Jay Lethal, the 2300 Arena went dark and a vignette played, reading “Clon activated” and “Access Granted.” An evil looking version of Hologram then appeared with the word “soon.”
According to a new report from LuchaBlog, Arez is playing the new El Con character. The report states the following:
“The new El Clon character who debuted on AEW Collision is Arez. Many people seemed to figure it out immediately, even though there really weren’t any hints. I think Arez and Aramis are just linked in people’s minds; most US people would’ve been introduced to both of them wrestling each other in places like GCW and MLW so maybe they’re just linked together.”
There is continued belief that Aramis is who is behind the Hologram character.
According to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, back on September 5, 2024, AEW filed trademark the terms El Clon and The Clone. However, the approval for both terms were rejected, as it states the following:
A final Office action refusing registration has been sent (issued) because the applicant neither satisfied nor overcame all requirements and/or refusals previously raised. The applicant may respond by filing (1) a request for reconsideration; and/or (2) an appeal to the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. AEW can appeal the decision if they so choose to.
