AEW Collision SPOILERS: Matches taped 1/21 to air 1/24

Due Texas expecting up to 8 inches of snow, especially in the Dallas/Arlington area, AEW taped this Saturday’s Collision at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida after Dynamite went off the air.

Collision was originally scheduled to air live on TNT and HBO Max from the Esports Stadium in Arlington on Saturday.

Off air notes: After Dynamite ended, Tony Khan came out to remind the fans to stay in their seats for the Collision taping. 

Paul Wight came out out to join Excalibur and Tony Schiavone on commentary and Justin Roberts is the ring announcer for Collision for the first time. 

Collision Taping:

-Hangman Adam Page defeated Katsuyori Shibata

-AEW Women’s Champion Kris Statlander defeated Isla Dawn in a championship eliminator match. After the match, Thekla is shown backstage saying this was Statlander’s last win as champion. She then spit on a Statlander t-shirt and tossed it in the trash as Statlander looked on from the ring.

-Jon Moxley comes out with Marina Shaffir for commentary for the CMLL World Title Match. Tony Khan came out a representative for CMLL. 

-CMLL World Championship Match: Claudio Castingnoli defeated Roderick Strong After the match Cassidy offers his hand to Strong which he denies and rolls out of the ring

ProtoShita (Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita) defeated Austin and Billy Gunn. After the match, Kazuchika Okada came out to the top of the entrance way to congratulate Fletcher and Takeshita which actually angered Takeshita. Fletcher calmed down Takeshita while Callis ran around the ring celebrating the victory. 

-Mark Davis and Jake Doyle defeated Jordan Oliver and Alec Price. After the match, Callis says he has a message for FTR and how they are now wanting the AEW World Tag Team Championships for Davis and Doyle. Big Stoke and FTR appear on the screen and said everything Callis says is a lie and they will remain AEW World Tag Team Champions. Callis says to enjoy the titles as next week they are coming home to Davis and Doyle. 

-Andrade El Idolo defeated CMLL’s Magnus.  Andrade wrestled a lot of the match with his shirt on, which then began a “take your shirt off chant”. While outside the ring Andrade took his shirt off and then did a selfie with her and put his number in her phone. Back in the ring he climbed to the middle rope, took off his glove to show no wedding ring any longer. A fan then chanted “take your pants off”, which he did to reveal his trunks. Note: Don Callis was not at ringside nor on commentary for his match. 

-TBS Championship Match: TBS Champion Willow Nightingale defeated Julia Hart.  During the match, Skye Blue runs down to try to distract Nightingale only for Harley Cameron to come down, grabbed Blue off the apron and the two fought up the ramp to the back. 

Off air notes:

After the match, Harley Cameron and Orange Cassidy came down to the ring, as Willow thanked us for staying all night and giving us energy all night. 

Tony Khan came back out to thank everyone again and he had to make a hard decision to cancel the live show at Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas and was thankful the fans were excited all night. He closed by saying Orlando has some of the best fans in the world and he will be bringing back AEW to the city again.
